Sydney woman facing life behind bars after allegedly trying to smuggle $36.7 million of meth
A woman from Western Sydney has been arrested for allegedly attempting to smuggle nearly 40kg of methamphetamine, valued at $36.7 million, into Australia. Border force officers found the drugs in her suitcases upon her arrival from South Africa. She faces life imprisonment if convicted of the charges.
The 32-year-old woman arrived in Sydney on a flight from South Africa yesterday, but border force officers were suspicious about what was in her two suitcases.
