Australia Day heat record for Adelaide, as mercury hits 49C in Ceduna
Adelaide has set a new record for its hottest Australia Day, surpassing the previous record of 41.1C set in 2006. Meanwhile, Ceduna in South Australia experienced its highest temperature ever recorded at 49.5C, breaking the previous record of 48.9C set in 2019. The Bureau of Meteorology warns of dangerous conditions and extreme fire danger due to the ongoing heatwave.
