Degree options for older people
I have someone close to me who’s been laid off about three times in the past few years. They have about 20yrs of experience in their field, so skill isn’t an issue. The big issue he is facing is he dropped out of college, because someone offered them a job in the past, that has been bitting him in the butt this year. A lot of the interviewing process is becoming more and more automated, and without a bachelor’s he is getting auto rejected. Many recruiters have told him, he would have been the perfect candidate had he only had a bachelor’s degree.
He’s getting low on funds and trying to figure out options. He’s in his mid 40s and can’t really afford to spend 4yrs in college learning and going into more debt. Are there any quicker options for people getting degrees that already have the experience and knowledge of the field?
